Just some daily ramblings about anything and everything in life that I feel like talking about. No real agenda, but eventually you will get my angle.

No Better Movies!
I am sitting here watching John Wayne in "True Grit". There is no better, in my opinion, an actor, of any kind...than John Wayne. I have loved his movies ever since I can remember. I don't think there is a bad movie by him. I can remember the first time I saw John Wayne die in a movie...I cried. He isn't supposed to die...he was bullet proof and a man's man. Hated to see his acting days end and was crushed when he died. There are so many good movies by him that I had difficulty choosing five movies for my poll. So, I chose five that I liked particularly well. Please make your selection.

"Merry Christmas" vs "Happy Holidays"
Have you ever noticed how people are afraid to wish you a "Merry Christmas" these days? Political correctness has taken away the real meaning of the day, has kept us from celebrating it properly or openly...and has us all afraid to wish each other "Merry Christmas" without offending someone. We wouldn't want to wish someone a "Merry Christmas" and have them be Jewish or an Atheist or something like that. I think that if we can't celebrate Christmas for what it is, perhaps those who want to de-Christianize Christmas and just make it another day should not celebrate it. If you don't believe in Christmas, don't celebrate it. That also means, don't get the day off. If Christmas is just another day, the treat it as such. I get tired of hearing people complain about Nativity scenes in the wrong locations, no Christmas parties in school, no religious Christmas songs in school. We even created holidays just to include other people. No one ever heard of Kwanzaa until we had to include another group. We even make sure the Muslim holidays are brought in. Now, the Christmas season is truly getting turned into the "Holiday Season", because we celebrate every holiday we have invented and minimized Christmas except for the shopping aspect. The Santa Claus portion has become more important the the fact that Christmas celebrates Jesus Christ being born to save us all.

Pain in the Butt Boss!
My first rambing for my new blog is about a worthless boss I have. I am a military guy, so I deal with many bosses and have few options if I don't like my boss. It is not as if I can just say, "I quit!". This boss is pathetic. She (yes she), and I do not have a problem with female superiors, just this one! I have been away for a week on business and found out that our deputy commander wanted me to do a rehearsal for all the people who are going to participate in the event I was just working on. Now, he wanted to do this tomorrow (Monday). So, she says I need to come in on Sunday and do a practice of how I am going to do this rehearsal for this guy. So, after having been away from my kids for a week, she decides I need to take what little weekend I have (returned Saturday night) and be in the office at 4pm.
So, I get there and just about 4, the deputy for our office comes in and tells me that our boss will NOT be in for this practice, she is on Christmas vacation! I was furious, but at least we kept what we were doing very short. This lady is a pathetic leader and incompetent, in my opinion. She has absolutely no compassion or consideration for others. I hope she leaves after the year she is supposed to be here for.
